I wanted to be as honest as possible about the Trans Am. When ordered the decal kit I had advised the operator what type of motor I had and that was the decal package they had sent me. At that point I did not realize all of the small differences. I just assumed.\n\nOn a separate note I want to thank all of you for all of the constructive criticism which encouraged me to spend a few mins on the Trans Am and I discovered that I had a bad fuse which led to the heater working and the Tac working again. Go figure. The main caps are doweled to the block, which assures positive and consistent locating... The decks are fairly thick and very rigid... the factory machine work was excellent.\" The point is moot since this is an Olds, which could meet emissions restrictions where the Pontiac couldn't. By '79 the Pontiac was out of production and the remaining engines were held over for use with manual transmissions.
