With a good cold-start injector, a tii should fire right up. That\u2019s the fifth injector that is on the top of the throttle body, angled towards the intake \u201clog.\u201d There is a small timer box on the firewall on the driver\u2019s side that controls that, along with the warmup valve that is on the pump, which has coolant running to it. All three of those components are critical to the proper starting and warmup of the engine.\n\nThe material that expands and contracts in the warmup valve is a special wax, as I recall. Pretty crazy, but it works, and must have been the best solution at the time, apparently.\n\nThese engines should idle at about 850 when warmed up. More when cold. This is a beauty. A bit surprised to see Chinese tires, but my Dinan 540 had Chinese tires when I bought it....\n\nAlso, tii clocks are typically not accurate, like this one, if they work at all, in my experience. Not really a big deal. It actuates the start valve to prime (choke in a carburetor car) the engine so it will start cold. Jack Fahuna at Pro BMW suggested I do this as the stock start valve system was not working properly, are expensive to replace and generally unreliable. To start, turn on the ignition switch, push the button for a couple of seconds and then start. In the video I pushed the button, then cranked the engine. Probably should have included pushing the button part in the video.
