I believe it's now fully ready for the next owner to enjoy and could complete a long trip with no issues. I too have never seen this style front seat and thought it was rare and unique to the YE9 (Convenience Pkg, Comfort & Decor level #3) as indicated on the build sheet. I'm getting about 12MPG in the city and 16 on the highway. It's gotten a bit better with the JET performance tune as it doesn't need as heavy of a foot to drive (it has more power and improved shift points). It's a wonderful tow vehicle as I've towed a few of my other cars. With the big block and the 1-ton frame you can barely \"feel\" the trailer while driving. As for body rust, there is no rust whatsoever other than what's seen under the hood and the \"normal\" surface rust on the frame and some suspension parts. The paint job was to address the clear coat peel that plagued 90's GM vehicles and I made the decision to do no \"body work\" since the truck was so straight minus a few door dings (as seen in pics). My goal was to preserve rather than restore the truck. There was no rust on the body prior to the repaint. The truck has been parked near the beach and spent most of its life outside which cause humidity to gather under the hood and ultimately corroded the hood latch and radiator support. It turns out that these are actually bucket seats with a fixed center console that doubles as a middle seat. I also found a tag on the seat showing the manufacture is \"Kustom Fit\". \n\nInternet search found that this IS an aftermarket seat built by Kustom Fit which is a local manufacture of custom truck and van conversion interiors. It appears this is their Transtar 5377 seat in matching \"404 tan\" GM fabric (according to their site). It is a high quality comfortable seat and fooled me that it wasn't the factory OEM seat. They look like GM seats (kinda like a C4 Corvette seat). I didn't even know there was an aftermarket for full size truck seats. :)\n\nI know the 2nd owner (long time family friend) who owned the truck since 2006 and he confirmed he didn't install the seat. Given the condition of the fabric I think it's been in the truck for a long time so I guess it was either dealer-installed or installed shortly after taking delivery of the truck. \n\n@strongmangarage I take back my last comment and you were absolutely right. I believe all of these C3500 came with it but someone here will probably chime in to correct me.\r\n\r\nQ: How does the JET computer work? - It's a handheld scan tool that plugs into the OBD port. There are several pre-programmed options including fuel maps to run on 87, 89 or 91 octane fuel. You can also program shift points manually and increase the rev limiter and top speed. I have the truck set to 91 octane and \"firmer\" shift points which has dramatically improved the drivability. It's very easy to use and the next owner can change it back to OEM spec in a few minutes. \r\n\r\nQ: How is the condition of the interior plastics? - The plastics on this vintage GM product has never been great however since this car has lived in a mild climate and was used as a camper and not a work truck, all of the plastics are in great shape. The dash was cracked when I got the car so I installed a dash cap which is glued into place. The dash cap matches the interior surprisingly well (color and finish) and honestly most people wouldn't notice it's a cap unless it was pointed out to them. I own a 98 crew cab 4x4 and I'm even in Oklahoma, thats how I happened across this. I bought my big truck after the Army, and after collage, and after everyone else was 4 years ahead of me. As soon as I made a decent pay check I bought it, 2004 I think. I put a 4\" suspension lift on it before I even took it home and 35\" tires. Wheels that look just like CenterLine ConvoPro drag wheels. They were popular in the 80s...and ME. I wanted them more than anything on my hot rod in school. I did grow up in the 405 after all so street racing is just what you did in Oklahoma back in the 80s. I could never afford them, BUT, now they are on my big truck! I drove that truck all over the USA building industrial plants. Lot of good times and very sad times too but thats why this used car write up caught me off guard.
