I wouldn't hesitate to run an engine with a late F head such as this one - if it hasn't been rebuilt, it's proven its worth already; and if has been rebuilt I expect it will last a very long time to come. I have well over 300K on my own such head and have never had reason to worry. If not shaved, this is a relatively low compression piece that will be user friendly and won't require premium gas. It came with hardened seats when new, so the new owner need not be overly concerned related to valve recession.\r\n\r\nGiven that its not the original engine, and that we don't know what cam is in the block (the cam isn't in the head) nor whether modifications have been done to the engine, the safe assertion is that it's a B20F with nice even compression. No reason to think it won't give years of service. Not only do you provide this service, you also live with these cars. I echo your comments re: the K cam. We have sold many, as well as D cams, and have not heard of any wear differences. They are made from the same blank and have pretty similar profiles. They are still made at the same factory that made them \"in the day\". This car looks like a good daily driver that has had typical alterations to keep it that way. They can be changed back to stock, if so desired by the next caretaker. Floor rust is very typical in the 122 and 544 that used the rubber floor matting backed with jute insulation. Once the jute gets wet, the floors rust from the inside, not necessarily indicating a cancer riddled salt belt car that rusts from the outside. In a driver, the floor rust repairs, when welded in, are just as good functionally whether with correct pressed pans or hand formed sheet metal. Today, there are many more correct panels and parts available for these cars than there were even just 10 years ago. Often in the past there were fewer repair options available.
