There are no photos of the underside. The roll bar is not the usual kind like from Autopower of San Diego. These rear braces plunging into the rear seat shelf is most bizarre. The chrome rocker panel trim and wire wheel style hub caps were some of the typical aftermarket dealer accessories. IMHO they were god-awefull then and haven\u2019t improved in age at all. The dashboard treatment is far from stock. I doubt the speedometer and tachometer are original to the vehicle. The center panel has been removed and windshield wiper control located to down below near the hazard switch. I don\u2019t see the dash light dimmer control. There is a volt meter added to the extra length dash panel. The original steering wheel has been replaced. A considerable effort has been done. Questions, but no answers.\r\n\r\nI have no affiliation with this sale, but some of the questions and statements below need to be qualified.\r\n\r\n1978 is a transition year after about mid way. Pininfarina was tooling up for the new 2 liter Spider, and ending the 1800. So a lot of 2 liter parts are found on late 1978 cars. The doors is the most obvious. Sometimes the front bow of the convertible top frame was a 2 liter, sometimes not. The oil pressure gauge was dropped at the same time.The hump in the dash above the steering column was dropped, and the 2 liter dash was used, gauges and all. Much more is discussed in my book.\r\n\r\n@Slapshifter states:\r\neuro side marker lights have been used below the healights and the lower radiator valance and grilles sourced from a 2 liter spider \r\nHe is correct about the lamp location, when the original bumpers where backdated to the 1967-74 bumpers, the \"in bumper\" 1975-85 lamps are lost. It is common to put them into the original brake cooling fender holes, as this car has done. The original 1967-74 lamps are still available, but are very expensive. But this style front valence and second grill was started in 1974, so it's original here.\r\n\r\nThe trim on the rocker panels was a dealer installed option. Usually holes were drilled and pop rivets hold on the trim. The wire wheel hubcaps were also a dealer installed option. The roll bar does appear too tall for the top to work. I sell one that clears, and is much shorter, but does not pass some racing groups rules. A roll bar greatly stiffens the chassis, so I would install one on a Spider just for that reason.
