In early 1968 Lotus introduced the 1600cc x/flow. It was fitted from the factory and became known as a Series 2-1/2. The Series 3 came later in 1968.\r\nAs a 1967 the car should have a 1500 per x/flow, however I would take the x/flow every time.\r\nThe beauty of a 7 is you can mix and match as you want. Very early cars started with the 998cc Anglia engine and have had quite an assortment since including the Sprite engine Lotus 7 America.\r\nWith the extra frame tubes and none original sheet metal work it looks to have been a race car in its previous life. Shame about the home made dashboard as it should be red, not a huge job to replace.
