I sent them the correct VIN tag photo before this listing and I guess they messed up and didn't post it. They do have it, and I'm not sure why they haven't posted it. I'll email them immediately to post the correct one. \r\n\r\nAs far as the grinding on the cross bar, that is normal for all 63 Vets. They didn't start using rivets on Corvettes until 1965. They had a lot of trouble with the spot welds holding VIN tags on the 63 Vets, so they used a grinder at the factory to clean the paint off, then spot weld the VIN tags in place. Nice enough but not perfect, with few door dings on each side.\r\n\r\nMy theory was that it belonged to an employee of the store, since it was literally there every time I walked through that parking lot on my way into the mall. I always pictured an older lady, maybe a widow, who worked at the jewelry counter or something. And I'm sure over the 25-30 years that the Vette served as her daily driver, many a young guy offered to buy it from her, with thoughts of tearing out the automatic and air in order to make it a killer in the quarter mile.
