If it was mine, the wide white's would have to go. 1961 was the last year for wide whites on Lincoln's. Narrow whites would be more authentic on a beautiful car like this one. I love white wall tires on vehicles that had them. I still use narrow white's on my '81 Wagoneer and all my Buicks' newer then 1961. The other possibility was a sedan very similar to this BaT sedan: a Lincoln Continental, black exterior/black interior. Mom would make the final decision. She chose the Lincoln and in the process taught me the definition of the word \u201costentatious.\u201d She said she wouldn\u2019t be seen in \u201cthat flashy convertible\u2026\u201d and that if Lincoln\u2019s were suitable for the Kennedy\u2019s, one would be just fine for our family. The doors do all lock, and unlock with the key, so that is good : ). The power door locks, is a switch on the the dash, that lock and unlock them all not like a newer car were you can control the drivers door and then the others. Anyways, that is run by vacuum, I don't think the issue is in the doors themselves, I think it has to do with the switch possibly, I can hear a little noise when I move it, but also could be maybe a valve or the vacuum canister possibly. It could be one of the lines as well. but I don't think so because I believe I would hear a hissing noise from them. So what would it cost, it is more labor then anything locating the one that is wrong, I would start with the switch back to the vacuum canister. The vacuum canister gets pumped up by the vacuum off engine, so there could be a pinched line. I would say if any parts were involved from Switch, valve or canister, I would imagine $10-150, and then labor. I love the Suicide doors, I love the low slung look of the car, especially how the front windshield waterfalls into the roof line, and when you look from the back an front, how the roof is a lot narrower then the car, and you can see on the front fenders and rear quarters flare up like wings all the way down, it is a piece of automotive art for sure.
