Quick story: I was a much younger man in the late 1980s when my Father cut a deal with a local gentleman who owned a junkyard. The deal he cut was after he noticed the tail end of a \u201857 Century convertible sticking out of the weeds from the highway. Dad agreed to buy every \u201857 Buick in the yard with the intention of building the convertible. He bought 5 Buicks from that yard for the tidy sum of $100 per. I remember watching the rollback trucks drop off the cars one by one. If memory serves, dad bought 1 Century (the convertible), 1 Special, 2 Roadmasters and 1 Super. After some major work, I remember sitting on a milk crate riding around the yard in that \u201857. Life happened and Dad tucked the \u201857 in the far corner of the garage. Almost 30 years later (present day) that \u201857 is still in the garage. My hope is that dad, my brother and I will begin work in 2022 and get it back on the road. \r\nBest of luck to whomever buys this car and know that cars like this DO NOT come up that often. This car is identical to the one my buddy Michael's Mom used as her daily driver. They lived across the street and one day Michael asked if I wanted to go for a ride to drop off a birthday gift to his grand mother. My Mom said okay, so off went went. It was Michael, his three year old brother Chris and me in the huge back seat. We were charged with holding the gift and Michael's Mom told us not to jossel it because it was very delicate. Turns out it was an antique Italian carriage clock Grandma had always wanted. So, top down we headed off with the clock resting in brother Chris' lap. We had just entered the freeway and merged into traffic when brother Chris, without warning, picked up the small box and tossed stright up over his head, a look of evil glee on his face. When the clock rose beyond the protection of the wind screen, it flew backward and out of sight. Only the sickening crash and subsequent crunch when it was run over by the car behind us told the tale. We stopped and Michael's Mom picked up what was left of the clock. With the mother in tears, we drove back home. Chris seemed oblivious to his crime, a warning I noted as he proved to be quite a little hellion in the future. I was dropped off without a word and feared for the fate my buddy faced. As soon as I entered my house, I just fell on the floor laughing. I told my mother and we both just broke up.
