While it\u2019s no sports car, and I am sure the 2019+ offers an improved experience, I have to respectfully disagree with the statement \u201chands down the worst driving and handling vehicle on planet earth\u201d. My daily is a Porsche Macan turbo with performance package, and on the weekends when I have the choice I reach for the G-Wagon keys. Why? Well, 1) the prodigious torque is addicting, and so is the 5.5L V8 grumble and turbo whine that goes with it. 2) the view out is uniquely commanding as well as expansive. 3) the narrow footprint and visible corners makes it easy to place. 4) While the ride is \u201cstiff\u201d, the car is so heavy that it shrugs at potholes and speed bumps and other imperfections. 5) it has a cool presence. It\u2019s even a very comfortable highway cruiser. Sure, you can\u2019t corner really hard without the stability system kicking in, but it\u2019s not that kind of car, and I would say grip is \u201cadequate\u201d. I even prefer the 1970\u2019s-era (slightly more blocky) styling and form factor to the newer ones. Not to mention a healthy fraction of the cost.
