I think once the head gasket issue has been checked, they don\u2019t have difficulty getting to 150k without problems. Increasingly rare too. The tabs become brittle and tend to break off.\r\n\r\nI specifically asked about the mirrors, since my driver side mirror works electrically, but mechanically, the mirror glass tends to lose adjustment when hitting a bump (and these cars are stiffly sprung) . So there\u2019s the occasional frustration of winding down the window to reset the mirror. But it\u2019s true that, in general, Toyota electric components such as window winders tend to work forever (I\u2019ve had something like 8 Toyotas and currently still have 4!, never had an electric failure, even on 33 year old and 200k+ cars)\r\n\r\nPity about the hood/hatch struts as these, I think, are hard to find, but are just an annoyance rather than a problem. \r\n\r\nThis seems like a great car though! All original. No collision repairs. Both bumper covers have faded, a lot: despite it's pampered life. It is a great car to drive. The steering is heavy at low speed but get the car on an open stretch and it will go strong. It is very comfortable and confident at speed. And, on the topic of reliability: I found the car a few years ago on the net. My son and I were on the west coast and met the sellers at the bank on a Monday morning. As they drove in, the car was obviously the well cared for example we wanted. We made the deal and went to an auto parts store for duct tape, oil, antifreeze, and a fuel can. We pointed the car east with no established route. We drove across the country and made it home in Ohio by Friday, for my wife's birthday ( thank you, Jesus). The car ran perfectly, effortlessly, with no hick ups: three thousand miles in five days in a thirty year old car. I love the car and its pop up headlights. With the Toyota build quality and the bullet proof engine, these cars will easily go a couple hundred thousand miles. They are the best you can get and far superior to any other headlight option in my opinion. They do come with a small hiccup though, The bright indicator does not work with the brights anymore. LEDs don't draw many amps compared to halogen headlights and therefore don't put enough resistance on the system to tell the indicator to come on.
