AMC was also clever about sourcing from its competitors, using a lot of GM/Delco steering columns, electronics, etc. and Chrysler Torqueflite automatic transmissions. The factory tach does work and it is nice to see that needle move, it just does not respond as quickly as I would like. It is installed with a hose clamp around the steering column and black tape for concealment. That proved too much and these bars allow the rear to hook up real nice, They are powder coated from the manufacturer but can easily be painted, undercoated, or removed altogether if desired. \r\n\r\nHere are all the engine rebuild details:\r\nThis one comes from the factory with the 401 racing inspired motor with forged internals that was completely rebuilt in June 2019.
