I didn't get any other paperwork with the car, just the sellers word he had the harness replaced which my local shop confirmed. \r\nThe rear bumper appears to have had the fasteners damaged. The scrape is unrelated as I believe this may actually have happened when we pulled it off the trailer when the seller delivered it to me. He brought it on a large utility trailer for heavy equipment.\r\nThe trans shifts fine, but a little firm. The buyer will decide whether they want to make an adjustment to the modulator or not.\r\nAs for the mileage discrepancy: When I bought the car, I noticed the trip odometer was not marking so I told the shop to have it repaired, as seen in the invoice. However, I did not notice if the odometer mileage itself was marking or not. In the event the odometer and trip odo were linked I decided to play it safe and leave it as TMU. Based on the Carfax, age and undercarriage condition, I'll confidently say its in the ballpark. \r\nThe Joyroad Sports are fine, I guess, lol. They're practically new (DOT date from 2016) and get the job done. \r\nThe real reason for me selling is I came up on another 500E with a Renntech 6.0 liter conversion a week after buying this one and I couldn't resist. While I have had to do some things on mine, I would say no worse than any other Mercedes and better than many other cars. And parts are pretty easy to get; no headaches so far. Even that module that goes in the center console, we found that, no problem. They do have this thing where the dual distributors can get wet and then it runs rough, but it's easy and cheap to fix. I love mine. I think they are terrific cars, and this one is a good opportunity for someone to get into one and bring it along at a pace they can afford and enjoy. \r\n\r\nThe 6.3 has an entirely different feel. It handles well, for such a big car, and the torque is monumental, but it isn't as fast as the 500E. Also, you have more of a sense of all those bits and pieces operating in the 6.3, because they have more systems in them. The air ride is very nice, though. Sold it for $7,000 with 216,000 miles on it. This was a great daily driver. Things to watch for: Wiring harness (done on sellers car), pneumatic rear suspension, hvac vacuum actuators. The paint on this one seem better than mine was. The clear coat just seems to fade on the roof, hood and rear deck. \r\n\r\nThe engine and transmission on mine worked great for the 65,000 miles I had it. Regular oil changes, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotors, other consumables. I did the shocks, brake rotors and pads once. Always started and ran great. This one should be good for another 100k miles. I owned a 1992 500E just like this one except it had black interior. I bought it New on November 4, 1992 from Stead Motors in Walnut Creek, CA and sold It for $60,000 five years ago with 14,400 miles. It was always serviced beyond MB standards and was in all practical aspects a new car. The car in this auction seems to have really good bones (no rust!) and good recent maintenance. It should be a good base for a very nice restoration and/or a great long term driver. Congratulations to the new owner.
