Speaking from my own experience, I\u2019m on my second spur after owning two vw phaetons which are virtually the same car. Sold the first spur with 40k miles because I got tired of a black car and found the color and options I always wanted at auction here. When I bought my first I budgeted $3,000 a year for service. Probably spent $3,000 total in the 7 years I owned it. These are hands down the greatest value proposition of any car I can find. From what I can see, much of the fear is based on the brand identity from years past for being problematic and expensive . There are horror stories about the struts ($700 each and a couple of hours labor) of which I haven\u2019t experienced (bought a set years ago for just in case that I still have) and the vacuum lines which I think were a problem on the early coupes but was sorted out by the time the spur came out. IMHO if the car has been well taken care of and respected as this one appears, someone is going to get an uber luxury car for an unbelievable price.
