Thanks for your attention and bids. Here are some responses to the questions and comments so far:\r\n I am the only owner of the car. It had 5,000 miles on it as a \"demonstrator\" at the dealership where I bought it. Several salesmen had taken it on trips, but I was the original registration owner. \r\n- - I'm not sure what is meant by \"shaved lights on the front fender\" The headlights DO pop up and are properly aligned. I do not know where the pic of the lights that the photog took went. I can post some soon. The original fog lights were replaced with halogen driving lights in their place. They only come on when the high beams are engaged.\r\n - - The added gauges on the left dash are oil temp and oil pressure, not vacuum.\r\n- - The little white gizmo mounted to the firewall is an electric windshield washer pump. The original 914 design used pressure from the spare tire to pressurize the fluid reservoir. (Not the best idea from Germany)\r\n The extra wires are for powering an audio amplifier. There is a #12 wire running from the battery to power the amp, and there are wires to power the speaker and to deliver signal from a receiver when you mount it in the dash.\r\n There was no 1.8 in 1973. The engine was rebuilt into 1.8 by using the bigger larger jugs for a 1.8. The rebuilt engine used better valves and was built to use unleaded fuel. Leaded gas was specified in 1973. I did not change the 1.7 badge.\r\n The original and pretty clean rear valance is pictured on the ground behind the car in one of the photos with the original coil springs. First post is a Winning Bid for a great little car. Are you kidding me? This car is not in bad shape at all for 48 years old and well worth the winning bid price. I have had owned a few of these, a 1.7L and a couple of 2.0L, plus a 1.7L bored out to 2.0L, but the fuel injection was never a problem for me, neither of mine (the 1.7 and one 2.0) with F.I. ever had a problem but can't say the same for the ones with carbs. A good mechanic can fix either with readily available parts. You can almost build a complete car with parts on the internet, not for $14k though. There a few minor cosmetic things that you can fix over time as budget and time allow, but the good thing is you can start driving it immediately and enjoying a really fun car. Accelerating through the curves and hold the road like you had rails. Plus you get great gas mileage.
