This is a pretty special car - it actually shows better in person (in particular the interior) than it does in photos. I purchased it on a whim, and was smitten from day 1. I thought I paid too much, but brought it home for the ask anyway. As soon as I put it on my lift at the shop I was floored as to just how well kept and clean the car was - even for a california car. I knew it had potential, and the P.O. had a great start at getting it there. As a shop owner, I tinker - and was determined to get rid of the carb, and get EFI on it, with timing control - and roll through the smog shop laughing. What I didn't expect was how much that work would wake this beast up. \r\n\r\n@Jaydawg7 - we don't call it Chocolate Rain - More \"Code Brown\" as on occasion I will take a customer or buddy for a quick trip, and listen to them chime in about third gens are turds, and this and that. Then I hammer down - after they ask me to back off - the common response is \"This thing should NOT BE THIS FAST\"\r\n\r\nThe powerband is amazingly dialed in - it goes from idle to 5,000 RPM like a japanese motorcycle. And every time you shift, the engine just keeps pulling all the way through 5th. \r\n\r\nWhile the P.O. did put a gm crate engine in - he did upgrade internals (with gobs of receipts accounted for) and the combination just works. With what I added, it made it all work better. Not only does it rip the tires off, but the several CA smog runs I have had to do makes the smog tech look baffled... cleaner than most late model cars. The beauty of a properly dialed system!\r\n\r\n@98WS6 - I have never dyno'd this car, as I'm not that guy who goes by a printout - but at my shop we install, tune and test drive a lot of horsepower. This car \"Feels\" like it has well into the high 300's HP, and maybe beyond - but the torque is the real story..... it's on the edge of obnoxious. Sure a hellcat or ZL1 late model camaro has big numbers - they a also weigh a bunch more. \r\n\r\n@Vtec4ever - you are right in your \"All Killer, No Filler\" comment. But the other surprise here is this car handles really, really well. It was far too low for Bay Area roads when i got it with lowering springs and struts - so I did the coilover conversion mainly to dial in height - but it honestly handles as good as most c4/5 corvettes I have driven. The gearbox itself was refurbished and upgraded by an outfit in Hawaii (the paperwork on that particular piece has gone missing- likely while the current owner was figuring out the specs for the Hawks short shifter.) There's a bolt kit and cross member mentioned in the first owner's detailed notes, but it's apparent no cutting or body manipulation was required for the installation.
