Mods on the engine were better left original ( valve cover, S.U. carbs, air filters, alternator ). Distributor looks to be original but neither the vacuum retard nor advance pods seem to be hooked up. Original steering wheels are getting rather hard to come by and bring higher $ as well as offer better crash protection than anything that came before or after in the TR lineup. Luggage rack is not AMCO which has flat bars and invisible welds + triple chrome plating that still looks good after 30 years. A nice one might be had for $1K but I wouldn't let my spare go for that. Original wheels are flimsy and virtually guaranteed to have runout so alloys are OK even if not ARE mags. The WINGARD original door mirror is available as a repro from TRF but lacks embossed name, letters, numbers etc. The bolt on bullets puncture the doors so oh, well. In 1968 as aUSAF 2nd Lt in England, I bought a '68 TR 250 from the salesman that visited the Air Force bases. Red with black interior. After a few months it simply didn't seem like much of a sporty sports car. I sold it and bought a '68 Morgan 4/4 Comp. All these years later I'm on my 3rd Morgan. Getting well-into my 70s, a TR 250 is looking awfully darn suitable for someone like me. Last weekend there was a British Car Day and the place was crawling with TR6s and other TRs, but not a single TR 250. I asked a couple of the TR folks about this and none of them knew of a TR 250 in our area. As such, good for you @Yimby.
