It is the \"David\" to the \"Goliaths\" but incredible in workmanship. We had a mentor, with decades of experience, advise us to keep a uniformity of design throughout, You will note the similarity in the designs of all the one-off trim pieces, including the wheels. \r\nThey replicate Starfire type hubcaps, but they are wheels. \r\nThe original design was mine. If you scroll down and view the video on the right... you'll have a much better insight to the enormity involved.\r\nFor example... we started with a good driving, rust free car. Despite that, the Olds was in and out of the body shop for approx. a year. the paint and body was in the high 6 figure range. The upholstery took approx. 8 weeks @ a cost well into 5 figures. If you noticed... even the floors are leather with carpet inserts to replicate mats. \"It is all about the devil in the details.\"\r\n\r\nThe 1955 Chrysler Hemi (354 cu in.) was rebuilt...balanced, ported/polished, new bearings, rings, etc. We built a log type manifold that has 6 carbuerator looking pieces which house EFI's - vintage look with modern tech. A vertex type mag was added with custom wires. Most of the wires, plumbing, master cylinder p/s are hidden. The linkage was hand fabricated. The engine bay is fitted with custom panels to present a smooth, finished look. The exhaust system was hand fabricated and is ceramic coated. It exits thru one-off exhaust tips.\r\nAs you can see in one of the photos, we cut the roof off, chopped the windshield 2 1/4\" - fitted it with custom cut glass from an original windshield.(a very tough undertaking... including the original we went thru 4 windshields!)\r\nThe vent windows are one off, as well. We then built the removeable, Carson type top that was later upholstered.\r\nAs mentioned in a previous message, all four lenses were 3-D\r\nprinted to our own design. The headlights are frenched, the hood/trunk are re-configured with a custom scoop on the hood. The front/grille shell was highly modified, tucked into the body and houses a one-off corvette type grill.\r\nThe rear bumper, again highly modified, started life as a '56 chevy bumper.\r\nThe entire under carriage is as nice as the top side. Many custom belly panels, some one off parts are plated (ALL the trim is nickel... there is no chrome on this build) - again, to be custom - original.\r\nBy now you can understand why the 8yr build costs in the multiple 7 figures. Cars that achieve the success (totally unexpected - we've been blessed) take anywhere from 6-10 years to build at a cost into 7 figures. That includes the tilt handle, the signal arm and the starter/lights button surround.\r\nThe front seats started out as '65 impalas.
