While my first auction was an 11 out of 10, and this car is in nice condition, I would classify it as a solid driver and less of a trailer queen. Maybe an 8. \r\nSome background: My father-in-law purchased this about 9 years ago and spent a couple years making improvements and finishing the restoration work that was already done. I helped him with a number of items. The engine came to him in great condition. As you can see in the cold start video, the car starts right away and runs very nicely, and does not burn any oil. Compression numbers are solid, and it sounds great. The work he did was mainly upholstery and interior work, A/C install, radio, etc., along with all new fuel lines, a new fuel tank, and a number of other mechanical improvements like a radiator rebuild and an overhaul of the brakes and carb. I inherited this from him a few months ago, and I am admittedly not well versed in Buick speak, though I\u2019ve restored other cars of similar age. I will try and get you every answer I can. \r\nDriving: This car drives straight and smooth, and is an excellent and comfortable cruiser. Surprisingly peppy for how big it is. Shows well at local car shows and parades.\r\nStorage: It has been stored indoors for the past 9 years, and comes with a very clean car cover. \r\nNoteworthy: In no particular order\u2026 I did not notice any oil leaks, though there is a small transmission fluid leak. Car does not run hot, and the temp gage does not fluctuate once it reaches temp. There are no external door handles on two doors or trunk, nor is there any badging on the hood or trunk. I\u2019m told they call this look \u201cshaved\u201d. It has a very clean look, and it came this way to my father-in-law, and I don\u2019t believe he noticed that before purchasing it, but the keyfob opens the doors and trunk. The title is in my name. It does call out a 4 door in the description, but I honestly did not notice that until BaT pointed it out. I have listed the VIN, a picture of the cowl tag, the door tag, and the serial number stamped on the engine block. We were told this is an original engine, but I don\u2019t have documentation to support that. Based on the road grime underneath that was cleaned off during restoration, it did not appear disturbed, and if it is not the original engine, it has been in there a very long time. There are likely some Buick gurus on here that may be able to provide more information based on the tags and serial. Upon close inspection, there is a small area of bubbling under the paint on the driver side C-pillar. There is a scratch on the hood, and previous to a hood overhaul, where springs and latches were replaced, the hood wobbled enough that it rubbed the fender and there is some chipping there. This has been documented in the pictures section. The carpet was a deeper blue and looks more of a gray-ish blue now and could perhaps be re-dyed, but the condition of the carpet is quite good. There is a box of parts in the trunk that includes what looks to be everything needed to convert the windows to power windows, should anyone desire to do so. I\u2019ll include it in the car when it ships. There is a good amount of Dynamat lining most of the car, beneath panels, carpets, and the trunk. I will say it has been flawless for the 9 or so years it has been in the family. The difference between this and a Cadillac XLR is that with a car this age, the hood is opened from the front (exterior) of the car, not from a release under the dash, so if a dead battery was ever an issue, you would have immediate access to the battery. There is a second key fob in the parts box but I've not put a battery in it.
