I replaced the front calipers with Brembos from a CTS-V, I got new headlights for the badly deteriorating ones on it, and a new contoured steering wheel which was optional on ADM Monaros. \r\n\r\nI've had it since 2012 and it's only car I've owned where I decided it has too much power. It only stands to get me in trouble and it is more than happy to oblige. I doubt I'll ever get another car with 400 or more hp. \r\n\r\nIt's really comfortable, the back seat is a great place to be - not necessarily get in and out of, and part of the reason I got it was that it had more power than modern muscle cars within my reach in 2012 and I think it's looks have held up much better than Mustangs of that time period. \r\n\r\nWhen I got mine it was harder to find a GTO with more than 25k miles - which I wanted so I wouldn't feel guilty about driving it. Now it's getting more dificult to find low mile examples like this. Prices have seemed to stay completely flat since 2012 too.\r\n\r\nAs for things to look out for - bad rear springs, top of the back seat being torn, and the center driveshaft rubber coming apart causing a thump when accelerating. Otherwise, these are well known to be very reliable. Fairly light on it's feet and extremely comfortable highway gt. @Land_Ark covered common problems - except the fuel rail cover (silver plastic pieces) can rub the fuel line and cause a leak on the top of the engine. These cars are very, very fun, but you need a lot of road to use more than second gear, and in sixth you can practically cruise at 70 mph while idling!\r\n\r\nThe interior is definitely unlike any other GM of the time. In style and material, it feels like a contemporary BMW. There are some quirks, probably due to being an Australian car in America. The window switches are on the console like an afterthought, the radio power button is far from the driver, and moving the power seat forward to exit the back is very slow. Five minutes after the buyer drove mine away, I heard him coming back through my neighborhood with that wonderful LS sound. I left the garage door opener in it. It was a fun car and accepted mods well. The good nostrils are blocked with easily removed pieces of rubber. At least when I owned my '05, there was a replacement air cleaner element and short tube that sealed to the hood nostrils and replaced the factory airbox. It transformed the driving experience!
