I suspect the transmission is likely a 280ZX box as that was a popular mid-close that wouldn't cost you an arm and a leg. The front suspension on my car was a set up Neely did and I can attest to the fact that it works well so I would expect the same of this car. We'll see where it goes. Its a nearly identical chassis' to the 3 that we built with it. Link, Ermish and My Big Red Soda car are all about the same base , and we built all 4 on the same jig that we did Brocks V8 510 on about the same time between 98 and 03. The tie in to the rear cross member from the hoop however I can't take all the credit on. It arose from working with Brock on his V8 Datzilla chassis. He told me to try it after a long talk with Big Tom White ( Neely Machine Engineer 93 to 99 ) he proved over 1.500\" of deflection under high load cornering.\nBrock wanted to solve the deflection that occurs when higher horsepower is laid down through the stock mediocre 510 cross members. The paint on this inside and out was stellar when new. We used all (DP Racing) Design Products Racing components on the suspension. This would be a great entry into the new SVRA National B Sedan tour. The fabrication team on this tub is the same as the others. Myself, Ian Odonohoe, Diego Flores, & Neal Smith. It was fun to do and was initially the vehicle that Pete chose to ressurect B-Sedan locally in LA when 510's became eligible in 97'.\nGreat car for someone given the high price of building one today from scratch. I was impressed enough that I've given serious thought to switching, B-Sedan is that good.\n\nI especially like that the car isn't tuned as a high RPM buzz bomb; while it may give up a little on the high horsepower tracks you won't notice on handling tracks. What you would notice is how quickly your budget will get dented having to refresh the motor after 3 races. 510s are extremely popular now for all the same reasons they were back in the day.\n As for building one; besides all the suspension set up work work, one would likely spend 8k-10k having a motor built (even building an L-series yourself will cost you 2K in parts before any needed machining) and a close ratio box will cost you another 2k-3k. Add in a grand for decent dampers, $500 for basic anti-sway bars and bits and you'd quickly be at 15K.
