Good luck with this one and buyers, I can tell you from my current experience that it takes over $10,000.00 to take a nice looking one and get it sorted out as well as this one seems to be. The top, tonneau, and side curtains all were provided by Morgan of New England and fit perfectly. This was a personal restoration at no expense spared. I have owned and restored many cars over 50+ years and I only know how to do the best job possible. The sills and rockers were replaced by clear, Scandinavian, white ash stamped by Morgan Motors. The instrument panel was replaced by a solid piece of mahogany cut to the exact dimensions of the original dimensions of the crappy laminated wood that was used by Morgan. For the floor boards I used marine grade 1088, in 10mm thickness which is unbearably expensive and difficult to find. The advantage of this wood is that all layers are free of knots and resistant to warping. Except for the temperature gauge I believe all instruments are original to the car. \r\n\r\nI sold this car to the present owner 4 years ago at a financial loss, not including my labor. I was not disappointed to learn this wonderful car was going to a good home. I actually visited the owner at his home in a beautiful part of Kentucky. Anyone interested should go take a look at this Morgan. I used seven coats of marine varnish and it looks good twenty years on. At the works in the sixties, there was a can of black \"coach paint\", (whatever that is) and a frayed brush that the crew used to paint every wood piece black except the dash. Both my dash panels are solid mahogany from new, not \"crappy\" veneered wood. If veneers were used later it was post 1968. It's good to see the door cards fastened with something other than the clumsy screws and washers usually used in an insensitive restoration. \r\nThis handsome car will make someone very happy...a note of caution: There is a piece welded to the rear axle for the handbrake mechanism (photo #76). A rear end collision will drive the fuel tank forward into this with disastrous results. I have wanted a Morgan since I first sat in one at the Earls Court motor show in 1972. I was 10 years old and it was a silver car with black fenders and a black leather interior. My father, who was in the car business, used to tell me they were terrible cars, but it never changed my mind. I toured the Morgan factory two years ago and rented one for the afternoon, while my wife and children were at a horse show. The sun was out, it was a beautiful summers day in the Malvern Hills and I had my Ordnance Survey map out exploring the back country lanes and b roads heading towards Hereford. Stopped in for a gorgeous pub lunch and barely made it in time to pick up the family.
