The Isuzu V6 engines (both the 3.2 and 3.5) are notorious for ticking sounds from the valve train and oil consumption. The former issue can sometimes be addressed with oil additives and/or choice of oil. The latter issue might also be affected by the same but it's a bit more involved as the cause of the oil use is the clogging of the oil drain holes in the pistons and the diminished ability of the oil control ring to do it's job. There is plenty of info online about all this. I simply kept up with the oil use and enjoyed both of my Troopers. They are solid and very roomy.
