It\u2019s does not minimize entry or egress for the driver Or passenger, but the cross bar support for the shoulder belts is in the way of back seat access. My guess is that it stiffens the chassis at all times and would be helpful in the event of an accident.....hard to imagine as the car handles extremely well.\r\nAnd yes the seats are on slides. Very comfortable and supportive, made by GTS seats Texas, with squeeze bulb air inflation for the lumbar supports and great grommet ventilation . The head room in the car is astounding, as is the leg room. Real leather and very nice cloth with brass grommets . \r\nAccess to the back seat is compromised, as the seats dont fold and there is a 6 point roll bar. This is after all a sports car, but ive carried 6 bags of groceries comfortably when needed. I love Mini's, I have owned 3 of them-one stick, one automatic and the latest was a plug in hybrid. Fun and well suited for city and highway driving. Plenty of power and fast tight cornering. They are now BMW made so expect hefty maintenance costs once you are out of warranty. Regarding the last one, a 2019 Hybrid: Good luck with the Mini Hybrid. You'll need it :-) I bought one of these used with a 1000 miles on it-paid low 30's, it had a sticker of 42K. I thought I did well! JCW badges etc-nicely done. I had a Mini-2016 Countryman S stick, 2018 Countryman S Auto and then this. It was fun while it lasted. The Hybrid drove nice, in gas mode it is quick enough (3 cylinder turbo), handling is nimble, tight steering and suspension. Crap gas mileage on gas, electric or both, and constant check engine lights. Granted, my driving habits do not result in good MPG most of the time. Only 12 miles on a charge. One of the regenerative charging systems on the rear right wheel was replaced under warranty. I asked about the cost for the repair if it was not under warranty. Price: $8,000-I started planning my exit...Oh did I mention the intermittent gasoline smell in the cabin and the charging problems? I doubt I will never buy a Mini again, at least a new one. I was liberated from the car after 21,000 miles, mostly commuting and around town. I was never happier than the day I traded it. I was lucky to get what I got when I traded it in. I lost money but it was worth it to get out from under it. Every dealer and CarMax told me they are sitting on lots everywhere for 100 days and Mini is not even making them anymore-I have not verified those claims other than looking on Mini's North American website.
