My buddies and I would try to out-impress each other with factoids about the cars in the parking lot... that the tail light serial numbers also carried the car's model year. That the Mustang's copper paint was very rare. At age ten, nothing made me a bigger hero than to lift the tail light of the big black Cadillac sedan on its hinge -- to reveal the fuel filler. Nothing. fifty-five years later, that was naturally the photograph I was looking for in the album.
