Bought it in 1963 before heading to college in FL from CT. Great styling on the car, but not great quality. Rust through was already happening on top of headlights. Sheet metal underneath caught all water, dirt salt,etc with no place to exit. Broke a torsion bar. Easiest enough to replace, but replacing a ball joint was a major task. Had to buy a special tool to unscrew it (I think I still have it somewhere). Couldn't budge it. Finally took the A-frame off the car and brought it to a machine shop to get it removed.\r\n\r\nWhen traveling to FL along with a few friends. We stopped at South of the Border for the night. Got in the car the next morning, started the car, but couldn't push any of the buttons to get it in gear. The motel called a local garage and a guy came by with a pickup and a long length of rope to tow us to the shop a few miles away. A scruffy skinny guy started to work on the car taking the bottom of the trans apart to find the problem. No lift,it was on jack stands. He worked for about 3 hours put the car back on the ground and said he was going to go down the road to \"mash it\" to see if everything worked. It didn't, so back up on the jack stands and take it apart once again. After about 2 more hours he put it down again and went down the road. This time it was fine, so it as time to pay the bill - 5 hours or so of labor, fluid, and gaskets. Total cost $30.00 !!! Never had a shifting problem after that. Drove the car for a few more years. It was a 318 and can't remember if it was a 2 barrel or 4, but it had plenty of pep. Kept it until one day driving along and the driver side seat dropped down about 4 or 5 inches - the floor rotted out. A drove it to the junkyard and tried to blow up the engine. No matter the abuse it hung in there to the end.\r\n\r\nWould like to get another, but only if the right one came along. This one is nice, but too far and costly for.
