The pictures certainly highlight the issue, but I did not notice them until the car was on the lift and I was eye level with the door bottom. \r\n\r\nThe first gear issue happens most when the car is cold, and seems to improve with driving. As noted before, I can avoid the issue by keeping my hand on the shift knob while releasing the clutch.
