I've only tried the switch on the master cylinder per a mechanics suggestion and because I've fixed this same problem in the past on a couple 914's. Some have a reset button and because this happened immediately after replacing the batteries, I thought sure that would fix it but this switch has no reset button.\r\n\r\nRegarding the engine paperwork, I only have receipts from Ollies (pic of receipt uploaded), B&B German (they did the heads) MFI Werks, Parts Klassik (Kurt did not only the throttle bodies but rebuilt the distributor as well), Dougherty Cams and many many from Pelican Parts where I work. \r\n\r\nBefore Pelican, I was a minority shareholder at Precision Motion. When I wanted to leave for the Pelican job, Don Kravig Jr. (still the current owner) didn't have the money to buy me out (for the record, I feel it important to mention he was a good partner and treated me as an equal. No regrets here) so I took shop credit in trade and hence, 2 engines came out of that shop for me with no paperwork. Glenn - great guy and really friendly, works at Pelican most of the last decade as the technical guy on the phone. He has restored some difficult cars from a 914-6 to a 70 Signal Orange 911E which I bought from him around 9 years ago - those were his starter cars where he learned a bunch and improved skills. This green 911S was in his garage back then under restoration. The work I see in this car is really good, a few small nit pick details that could be easily corrected but overall better job than many high price restoration shops who auction off their cars and better than most of the other worn out S cars that previously sold on BAT. The door sag thing - probably a hinge brass bushing if it sags after opening up, they can wear and you will notice slight movement if you lift up on the door at part open. The blinking handbrake light is simple - sender alignment in the handle. \n\nThe 2.2S is one of the most fun early cars to drive, far better design than a 2.0L and more driver involvement than a 2.4L, mechanical injection is not only sexy but sounds better than anything else period - mag stacks channel the intake sound up to metal air cleaner box like a symphony that the later plastic MFI stacks & cleaner lost a bit. They are rev happy so you have to get them above 5k to see the real power which is fun but they drive just as well as a T on the city roads yet more like a modern car on the highway as it keeps going. The first car to ever get a factory external oil cooler setup - they are complex and only ones where the lines run fixed through the body so that makes the 69-71S chassis totally unique as they are built as an S from the beginning. This car - Conda Green - the 2 best colors for this generation IMO are Signal Orange and Conda Green and should command a certain premium. California chassis so no extensive rust/cancer repair (this is huge), we used to get great project cars in California but the world figured it out and mined them all away from local garages. Many restorations now are on chassis we would have cut up and thrown away back in the day but no more parts cars now - only projects. Fuchs deep 6 are the sexiest Fuch made and Harv is the best. Alloy engine lid! That\u2019s $4k+ now and hard to find, only the 2.2S cars got them. Recaro Sports Seats are the \u201cmust have\u201d seat for any 911 and worth a 10% premium on the value of the car these days. The dash, not sure if it\u2019s original or repro but it\u2019s spot on with the hard to find proper fitting speaker grill - the ones from Porsche now are not correct looking. Ollie\u2019s did the case, MFI Werks did the pump, PK did the throttle bodies - the best guys. Sigla windshield and Sekurit glass is just what you want. It has the correct Bosch Banjo horns - proper horn sound is a nice fetish once you know the 5 early 911 horn variants. Real BOSCH lenses and lights top quality - not that repro stuff made in Eastern Europe now with no markings. Not matching\u2026. SO WHAT! Car is chassis #842 and engine serial #1079 - these numbers are very close to what it should be and the car doesn\u2019t know the difference. I think the matching numbers thing isn\u2019t as important as people think, look at 356 Carreras/Speedsters/911RS they all still command good money matching or not - period correct proper restoration is more important than exact numbers matching as the future moves on. \n\nI think this is an above average buy, hard to find a comparable car, you certainly won\u2019t get a pile of junk like some of the other stuff I\u2019ve seen these days.
