The gentleman that built this VW is the owner of a prominent air-cooled VW restoration shop in California. He built this Deluxe 15 window for himself with the intention of never selling it. Unfortunately do to unforeseen circumstances he had to sell the 15 window deluxe. The VW was restored back to original including paint and interior colors/finishes with the exception of some mechanical performance and reliability upgrades. Cosmetically the 15 window Deluxe was restored to a concourse quality. The mechanics of The VW have been tastefully upgraded for performance, reliability, and drivability. The motor, paint, and interior have all been done by some of the best So-Cal VW shops in there respected professions. The VW has won multiple best of shows as well as best paint awards. This VW has also been featured in air-cooled VW magazines.\u00a0\n\nWith the performance upgrades to the motor and updated freeway flyer transmission, this VW cruises at highway speeds and keeps up with modern day traffic effortlessly.\u00a0\n\nThe suspension has not been altered. the front beam is stock. The more horsepower and torque you have the higher the gear ratio you can run. As you probably know, these VW\u2019s were very low geared from the factory as the stock motors did not have much horse power. This bus still retains the original reduction boxes, which is nice because it allows the bus to sit at stock height and be more original to boot. Some people opt to update with a IRS rear axle, eliminating the stock reduction boxes. This is another way to have higher gear ratios. The down side to the IRS axle is the bus sits several inches lower.
