While I'm not a big fan of red on red, Ford did a great job of color matching the two as they always did. This is also the coolest body design Ford ever developed for the Fairlane, great lines all around, it has a bad ass look about it. The only change I would consider is an upgrade to discs in the front and then just drive it. My first ac chevy was in 1971 and it seemed as though people were used to no air. As late as 1988 i bought a new half ton gmc from a large dealer in chicago that had no air. In fact none of their trucks that were not fully loaded had air and very few were fully loaded. They recommended an after market shop that would install air for 750.00 on up. At one time trucks were a very small part of the landscape and meant for work not comfort.police cars,fire trucks,busses and all service trucks were hot boxes into the eightyies. You would be hard pressed to find a work truck today with ac delete and prob dont exist. I remember well chicago traffic court with no air and 300 people in a court call. You always hoped for a hot day the judge would send most everyone to go see a traffic movie and dismiss your case. Win win. The angle of the camera shows the exhaust on the drivers side farther away meaning you can see about 3-4 feet past the exhaust tip while the other side you only see about a 1-2 feet beyond the tip, it is very consistant in each side, and believe it doesn\u2019t blow smoke at all, not on idle, acceleration or deceleration, the motor is very stout, but I do understand your question, but if it were blowing smoke, I would have for sure mentioned it. I was focused on the video, but didn't see it hitting til a nice gentleman that watched the video noticed it, Thank you, now that is fixed, when they put the new windshield in they accidently had the wiper arm turned to far not much but just enough.\n\n4) Fixed the passenger side reverse light, so both are working : ).\n\n5) Put a New Power Steering ram in. Now after I did that, I forgot to mention, because I had already did my video underneath right afterward. I also replaced the ram bushings, and adjusted the steering box, I should have mentioned earlier, but steering is way way better, so all is good there. When you do jump on it though, and it hooks up, the front gets real light from the weight transfer, and takes pressure off the front steering a little, and because a little light, cure, keep your foot out of it and drive like a Granny : )\n\n6)New exhaust tips, doesn't sound like that big of deal, but it has these 2\" by 8\" rectangle tips that absolutely looked nuts.\n\n7)As mention by a previous owner the car did sit, and the brakes did seem to work good, but when we were inspecting, we noticed that the brake fluid has become corroded, and the brake cylinders were having issues, starting to seep, and corrosion, no one would have known, unless they would have pulled the drums and looked, so glad we caught, so we flushed the system and rebuilt all 4 brake cylinders. The master was already changed when I got it. \n\n8) Ordered a Marti Report for it. \n\n9)Also bought , Roadtest from CarLife 1967, and now bought the actual magazine with Road Test still in it, so you get both, original brochures, magazine ads, owners manual, paint chips, keychain.\n\n10)Rearend, we topped off, fluid looked clean. You will see TO-18 I put in rearend, so the next guy down the road can make reference. \n\n11)Checked oil. lots of time I change the oil, but it looked super clean, and is running a K+N filter\n\n12)The aftermarket Volt meter, that I mention under the dash that is not work, but does light up, well it is not actually hooked up, never was. The Volts are still hooked up to the Dash Instrument cluster. When you first turn the key on, you will see the Brake and ALT light come on in red, when you fire up the car they turn off, which tells me that it is still hooked up. \n\n13) Also, when I got it, the Courtesy lights were not working, it was part fuse, and part some bad bulbs, and the some contacts. So yep they are working. Including the SEAT BELT light under the dash, which this was an option on these cars including Mustangs, Fairlanes, etc. \n\n14) Transmission fluid looked clean, and gasket looked good from what I could see, and so did not change it. \n\n15) Yes, Horn WORKS now!\n\n16) Got a Jack, and Spare tire and wheel for it. \n\nBasically I did all the things to the car, that I would have liked done mostly. I know I know, I should be a good car flipper, and just buy it one day and sell it the next, but I like to take ownership, and do nice things to them, to improve. I know I would sell a lot more cars the other way, but that would be no fun, I like to enjoy them and be proud of them.
