I bought this car in 2022 with intentions to keep it as part of my collection. I sent the car straight to Castro Motorsports in North Hollywood to get looked over and fix anything that needed attention. Castro Motorsports is well known E30 M3 shop in the country for restoring these cars since the mid 2000's and has work on 5 of my other cars. i know the car had an accident in the past plus the previous owner did not do a very clean swap. So, I had Castro re do the engine swap, restore/paint the engine area, restore the undercarriage, all suspension components, every nut, bolt, hose, clips etc were replaced as you can see in the pics- I will post more undercarriage pics very soon, just need a lift. The drive train was inspected and all needed attention was addressed as well. According to the PO the drive train has under 80k miles but i still wanted to make sure everything was in perfect running order and had Castro looked it over and address any needed service. The suspension has Ben Sinpson front subframe. GC coilovers with Camber plates, all new brakes, hardware and lines were replaced. It has a 6 speed e46 M3 trans with a new clutch and lightweight flywheel. The car has ICE cold AC, believe it or not its much colder than my new car :). The exhaust is pretty quite at idle but sounds amazing once you push the pedal to the metal haha and custom made by Castro. We have a Carbon Fiber installed with a custom tune by Castro.\r\n\r\nThe paint was in decent condition when i bought the car buthad some clear coat \r\npeel and rocks chips, being a former bodyshop owner that was a big no no for me, so I had a local shop re do the paint with a very high gloss clear that makes the paint look wet. Wheels are 17 inch OZ Mitos that were refinished by undr8d_emoire who is well known for his craft. The center caps are original but have a little play in them but I have new set coming in soon. The PO who did the swap was a bit sloppy, so Castro re did everything to manufacture spec. The engine bay was painted after repairs.There is no alignment issues and the car drives perfect. I am open PPI\u2019s at buyers expense! When the car returned to me I had it re sprayed due clear coat peeling and rock chips. \r\n\r\nTo those who are not very familiar with these cars- 90% of these cars have had accidents or been painted during its lifetime. Carfax does not always show that! I have restored many of these cars and have seen all types shoddy work by previous owners. Mechanically the car feels/sounds 100%. S54 in an E30 as most should know, is basically a muscle car and absolutely rips and sounds great. Suspension felt solid, no rattles/knocks/clunks. Brakes seemed to stop the car very well. Slight bit of chatter at idle from the lightweight flywheel, but to be expected. \r\n\r\nInterior is very clean, everything worked, AC was cold. New cluster looked nice. There's no washer fluid with the shaved bay and could be added back if desired, so just a button you have to tap up by the mirror to get the check flash on the dash to go away. Probably only thing I'd replace inside would be the shift knob, but those are personal preference so leaving that to the next owner is a good idea. \r\n\r\nAll the rubber seals were in good shape, rear window seals (Which were toast in my E36M3) looked new. This may sound weird, but when looking for an older car to complement my 718 Cayman, you can tell right away how well it's been cared for based on how it smells. This car smells just like an older BMW should. It's hard to describe that smell, but people who know these cars will understand.\r\n\r\nIn full transparency, as someone who's very detail-oriented (my second garage is basically set up for detailing), the paintwork looked solid.
