There are 7 in all. 2 with new winter tires, one with the spare and those on the car. I did not not catch the alloy. They are super nice mudflaps, however, and the clock keeps excellent time. :) As far as I know the paint is original with an exception on the rear passenger side corner. From about 1/4 of the truck down behind the running light looks newer than the rest. I have not touched any paint since purchased in 2006. As far as the windshield, the passenger side will 'leak' a bit under pressure in a carwash or with pressure wash. In the photos is the gap. I was waiting to get the windshield replaced as it is in solid shape until I got the car painted. In regards to the 'corrosion' this is a pretty strong word. It is a about a quarter sized bubble in front of the windshield. That said, there is some oxidation on the Cat and Cat Pipe and the Exhaust Manifold. I suppose there is some oxidation on the Jack/Lift Mounts and the mounts within the bumper for the bumper shocks. I tried to show these in the pictures. As the rims are steel, the spare has some oxidation. If they are not clear, I can add more. Here are two new photos of two normal 240 problem areas. The edge of the wheel well and the drain in the driver side door. They are excellent examples of the lack of rust. I can assure you this car is rust free other than the spot mentioned. We kept it in the family for some 20 years and ran up slightly more that 200k miles in that time. It was the daily driver for years and made three cross-country trips with kids driving to college.\r\n\r\nI\u2019m impressed with complete service records that the owner kept, but I must admit that my maintenance experience was different that his. I did all my own maintenance work also kept complete records \u2013 including every refueling. From my perspective the most common replacements were the Lambda-Sond exhaust gas sensor which only lasted about 15k miles before power and mileage tanked. I didn\u2019t see any sensor replacement in the owner\u2019s records. Another set of recurring replacements were the front and rear mufflers/resonators. They seemed to last about 2-3 years before rusting out. I got around that problem by buying Midas lifetime warrantee mufflers for the first replacements. Free mufflers from then on! Definitely a money-losing proposition for Midas. The front and rear in-tank fuel pumps seemed to go out about every 50k miles and I replaced the timing belt every 60k miles even though it looked okay. Aside from oil/battery/tires/pads nothing but routine maintenance as needed. Never had problems with rust, running gear or oil leaks. I have tried to list all the concerns on this car in the descriptions and mostly in the comments. The only thing that does not work properly is the AC. I have done my best to keep this car in top notch running order. Items that may need attention in the future: Paint. Windshield, Steering Rack and Front Suspension. (rear shocks and springs are new) All these are functional and in safe shape. They are just well loved. The cables on the sunroof are a little stretched and one has to be 'gentle' when opening and closing, but it does not leak and closes true. The seal was professionaly replaced in the 2000s before my ownership. The front seat belts don't retract nicely. They will with some help. The front speakers don't sound super, but they both work. The rear speakers sound very good. I just asked my wife what her concerns were. She said it's old. That about sums it up. @SynchroM I see no evidence of the Lamda Sond frequency valve being replaced. I do have evidence a related relay was replaced under my watch. 2007 221962 miles 'frequency valve stays on at times when engine is turned off' replaced valve relay $16. The blower motor was replaced. It was before my watch. I found one entry 8/22/89 at 154377 miles. I will dig to see if I can find another entry. My guess is there may be another. The fan motor works well. It vibrates a little, but blows strong. Having replaced 5 of 6 of these in 240s in both professional and hobbyist capacities, I know what a magnificent pain it is! ( I apprenticed as a Volvo mechanic for two years in the mid 90s. I have seen my share of 240s and have owed four. 1978 DL, 1983 GL, 1985 DL and this 1978 DL.
