A owned the same vintage car and the previous owner put 15\" wheels on the car (Sciroccos in my mind are made for 14\" wheels). In an attempt to trim the inside fender flange, he opened up the seam between the inner fender and the outer. Every car wash entailed soaking up water in that little triangular piece behind the rear wheel. Is it fixable? Sure. Is is a big project? You bet. If this is a spot of rust in the middle of the rear pan, no big deal. It would be nice to know either way. The widened rear track also makes me wonder about tire rub, regardless of inner fender trimming. From the photos, it looks like there may only be 5cm or so of compression travel in the rear suspension. \r\n\r\nThis car has a one-of-a-kind powertrain, a subframe designed by a (clearly very talented) guy in his garage, a unique suspension, and a compilation of various brake systems. Despite all of that, the only video of the car is of it driving at parking lot speeds. The description does not state whether the car exceeds all expectations, is a straight-line drag racer, a project that needs sorting, or a basket case that can never be reverted to stock. There are 16 bullet items about the engine alone, and another 5 on the clearly-thought-out transmission, but zero mention of how it all works.\r\n\r\n Cautious people assume the worst and bid accordingly.
