We replaced front struts, all control arms upper lower and stabilizer links, front discs and brake pads\u2026we also did an oil service with ceratec added as well.\r\n\r\n A carbon clean was also performed. \r\n\r\nOnce repairs were complete and car was detailed we had the underside detailed and rear discs resprayed to achieve a more uniform look and add another layer of protection. \r\n\r\nWe also did a full paint correction and then applied a ceramic coating.\r\n\r\nThis car is an amazing example of the legendary v10 S8!!!! I\u2019m at 128k with no timing issues whatsoever, and honestly I wouldn\u2019t ever expect it. I\u2019ve seen some of these hit mid-high 200k\u2019s without any timing issues. These engines were pretty bulletproof if taken care of. The main things after 80k is the accumulation of oil leaks, carbon buildup, and intake flaps breaking. I just finished a major service on mine to replace loads of seals that had started to perish. Very intensive process, and pricey through a shop if you\u2019re not doing the work yourself. Intake flap removal isn\u2019t bad to do and takes one of the only critical faults with these cars. That V10 sounds amazing and I love the naturally aspirated power delivery. Not to mention in \u201cD\u201d it drives very comfortably like a flagship sedan, then on \u201cS\u201d it handles more like a sports car.\nI have a good indy mechanic maintain my car. He has had some high mileage ones, they run well as long as maintenance is kept up. Regular oil changes at 5000K mi intervals. Carbon clean when needed. \nWeak points are the intake manifold flaps failing and are becoming harder to find. Supposedly some of the 08\u2019s and 09\u2019s have better flap materials that lasts better. One of the ways to make it less susceptible to failure is to decrease the heat (the intake manifold gets extremely hot when driven) by installing a intake manifold spacer from JHM, which can be done at next scheduled carbon cleaning to decrease labor costs.\nAlso some of the interior soft touch bits wear faster than my other older cars that are plain plastic, but many of those share parts with the regular A8\u2019s of the same generation so they are plentiful if something annoys you enough to replace it.\nI\u2019ll be holding on to my V10 S8 for a while, it is a joy to drive. I don\u2019t the believe the car has had any paintwork or signs of body filler and paint. \r\n\r\nThe paint on the car appears to be original with no signs of prior paint work.\r\n\r\nRegarding the dash on the S8 it is covered in leather, there is a bit of shrinkage along the edge in front of the instrument cluster\u2026our upholstery shop is working on rehydrating the leather and gluing and tucking it back in\u2026. This will certainly improve the visibility of the imperfection.\r\n\r\nHowever if that is not to the winning bidders satisfaction the dash would have to be removed and leather re done \u2026cost would be around $2500.\r\nIf winning bidder would like we can facilitate the repair\u2026.
