The smaller sticker above it. Everything looks right in the trunk but the elephant skin isn\u2019t there on the left wheelhouse or in the well in front of the wood panels, but there seems to be some argument as to whether or not all cars had it. It has all the right interior stuff minus the shift knob, which might be tough to track down for the 4-speed. I\u2019d really like to know where that third VIN shown is located on the car. I can\u2019t quite figure out where that is from the photo. Wheels are Alpinas but they are not uncommonly seen on these. Original wheels with the right date codes are tough to find (I\u2019m looking for a set myself) but E21 steel wheels are dimensionally the same. \r\n\r\nI don\u2019t get why everyone is complaining about the location of the photos. They are like markers for a hard life. It\u2019s taken major injections of cash to get my Turbo running in top form after years of sitting around. Mostly routine stuff like exhaust system (Turbo only), radiator (Turbo only) and water pump, etc. My similar mileage engine is a bit tired but runs well (after replacing its bogus E21 dizzy with a 123Tune unit) and the KKK turbocharger is intact and giving full boost. Which is good because both service parts and replacement units are genuinely unobtainable. I\u2019ve driven mine for thousands of miles in California vintage events and plan to continue doing so. I think it is challenging for a lot of car people to appreciate or understand the collectibility and appreciation that some have for these vehicles. Once you own one, you are hooked. You also have to consider the history of BMW and what these cars meant. These were called the Neue Klasse and they saved BMW. They are truly driver's cars. \r\n\r\nIn my opinion, the seller would have earned even higher bids if the presentation was a little better. This car is right on the money and possibly a little low considering the rising values and appreciation for the Turbos, even in its current condition. It won't belong before a car like this will be over a 100k. With recent sales of Turbos being between 150 and 190k plus, these cars will be a quarter million dollars in a few years. It is the rarity of the car and what it symbolizes.\r\n\r\nBMW has really matured in recent years with their legacy models. The Turbos are the true predecessors to todays ultra-popular BMW M cars.
