That said, the Elise is more like a go-kart than a car: it is noisy and you feel every bump in the road. It is not a car for long trips, given that it runs at 3,800 RPM at 70 MPH. \r\n\r\nI also own an Audi TT, and the TT and the Elise drive very differently. \r\n\r\nI purchased the Evora about a year ago, seeking something in the middle: more exciting than the TT, but more comfortable than the Elise. While a front drive car (the TT) and a rear drive car (the Evora) handle a bit differently, they are both comfortable sports cars. I felt as if I had not purchased a different driving experience so much as one similar to a car that I already owned. The Evora cruises at 70 MPH at 1,800 RPM: it is quiet and refined, but the difference between it and the TT is not enough for me to keep both.\r\n\r\nI started selling the Evora within weeks of purchasing it, but no one wants an Evora in Vermont in the winter!\r\n\r\nLast spring, I handed the Evora over to AutoHaus so that they could display the car on one of Burlington's main drags. I live out in the middle of nowhere, so I hoped that exposing the car to the driving public would help sell the car. We had some nibbles, but nothing serious.\r\n\r\nThe Evora was garaged last winter, and is garaged now. It was on the lot at AutoHaus over the summer for perhaps 3 months.\r\n\r\nThe car is in perfect working order. I know of nothing that needs attention on the car. I have driven M2 Comp, M3 CS, M4 and M5 (also Kia Stinger GT/Veloster N) before I bought this car and previously 991.1 and Boxster. Once you experience Lotus Evora, you realize that how good BMW M cars are or how good recent porches are doesn't matter because you are driving with a thick layer of things that is blocking you from the sensation of driving.\n\nBMW is imprecise and boaty, while Porsche is precise and direct, it lacks the feeling. (Not saying they are bad car, they have their pros but lets focus on Lotus)\n\nNow, issues are obvious. Fit and finish from finest British engineering isn't the finest. Interior, although some utilization of good materials are present, is not top notch. Lastly, it isn't that fast... in fact, its as fast as M240is....\n\nHowever, if you are true enthusiasts, you know that there is more to the speed and fit and finish - sensation/driver involvement is something that is disappearing from the automotive industry... faster than manual transmission and faster than 2 door coupes.\n\nOr if you are not true enthusiasts... you will still like it because although it is hard to get in and out, you get tons of attention from everyone... people think it's a Ferrari, McClaren or Lambo. They are so confused and view it as a six-figure car... Even enthusiast gets confused because design is that good. I was driving in the dark at the curvy road, and my enthusiast friend confused my car for a Ferrari 458 because of a tail lamp and lines...
