There is a small area with rust present -behind the front passenger wheelarch, which I've tried to show in the photos. They've been re-applied following all of the original markings, but the tan is still the original factory applied paint.\r\nThere are four other nearly identical looking Super Chief survivors: one in yellow/black, another in black/silver and I think there are two survivors in the same white/gold color scheme. Although in the video of the underside, I tried to show as much of the floors as possible. You can see in that video how the floors are all still as made by the factory -all of the pressings and shapes in the metal. So from the underneath, there is no evidence of any rot working it's way from the inside out. These images are to illustrate the lineage and even existence of the Super Chief as a specific model.\r\nMr Chuchua was a central part of the Jeep community, owning his own LA based Jeep dealership, where he sold and serviced Jeeps occasionally offered special, unique models such as the Super Chief. He developed, built and sold tuning and performance parts,which he used on his own competition Jeeps. Brian Chuchua is a 1978 inductee to the Off-road Motorports Hall of Fame.\r\nThe Super Chief certainly isn't a widely known model, because of its rarity, but the word of mouth story is that Chuchua offered 25 Cherokee Super Chiefs, and 5 are said to still exist. A yellow/black Super Chief model can be found via an internet search, from a few years ago, where the owner also offers the same information about the Super Chief build numbers. Firstly they illustrate the dire need for the repaint of those areas -as the Californian sun had been hard on the original black paint. Secondly these photos show the solid condition of the rocker panels while the Chief was still wearing that Jeep factory black paint. These were taken in the early Spring of this year.\nOne shot shows a close up of the dent which had clearly been on the driver's three-quarter panel for some years -a paintless dent removal company pulled that dent out. In the future that area would benefit from some correct use of bondo, but not to fill any kind of corrosion, only to recreate the smooth panel finish. \nNo bondo was used during the reapplication of the black paint on this Super Chief.
