Welcome to our auction on this spectacular 1972 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. This car was sold new at Bob Cobb Pontiac-Cadillac in McCook Nebraska on May 24, 1972. On June 1, 1974, this Cadillac was sold a second time as a used car by the same dealership with 10,002 miles.\n The second owner kept the car for the next 50 years until our purchase. It looks like the owner moved from Nebraska to Hayden Idaho in 1980. I have all of the Idaho registrations from 1980-1995 when the car was last registered.\n This car is a 100% original unrestored survivor, and it is 100% rust free. The paint is all original with the exception of the last two feet of the passenger rear quarter panel. In the owner's later years, he caused some minor damage when he hit the side of the garage while backing out. In preparation for the sale, we had the damage repaired at a high-end body shop. Only two feet of the back end of the quarter panel has been painted to preserve as much original paint as possible. The entire quarter panel was then cleared to blend the paint and color match. Before and after pictures are posted below. Four brand new white wall tires have also been installed in preparation for the sale. The car recently had plugs, cap, rotor, wires and an oil change before our purchase.\n This Cadillac runs, drives, shifts and stops beautifully! Nearly every option and light is still working. Amazingly the factory air conditioning and heat are still functioning via the climate control selection wheel. The A/C is still blowing cold with R.12 refrigerant. The car does have some minor dings, dents and scratches from 82,000 miles of driving over 52 years. \n The cruise control is not working, the clock is intermittent, the power electric seats move forward and backward as they should, the up and down seat motors are working but the gear or track needs to be cleaned as the seat is not going up and down. You could probably have a quality exhaust fab-ed up that would sound good but these cars came originally with a very expensive system that was designed to breath well for performance and yet be muted. They had small mufflers and also, resonators, which were another type of muffler upstream. The combination gave them a well-muffled burble that sounded like a muscle car covered in moving blankets. Almost no one wanted to spend the money to replace them correctly once the cars became \"worth-challenged\" and you wound up with stuff like what you see on this car.
