All I had was a cell phone, and apparently I'm not too good at it. I was by myself using a window cell phone mount and couldn't really find the right location for the video. Anyway, the car cruises at 70 MPH at 4,000 RPM. I brought it up to a little over 80 MPH in the video and on a level road I've run it over 90 MPH. For david_p, I was told the hp benched in the low 90's when the motor was first completed . I was not present for that test however. The speedometer was rebuilt and calibrated at Palo Alto Speedometer, but for some reason, they couldn't get the odometer to work. It would have been easy just to buy a Smiths knockoff, but I wanted to keep the original. I hope this helps. They recline nicely and have more adjustments than the standard seats (which I have and would be included if the buyer wants to have them shipped). I would look them up online, it's quite a company. Or some other configuration. I know they were mounted also on the left side at times. Concerning the final drive, I know I did not change it. We (my engine builder and myself) bought the block and gearbox from Heritage Motors of Costa Mesa, Ca. It is indeed from an MG Metro, but I would be quite surprised to find out a previous owner of that unit changed the final drive. I was fortunate enough to have, while the unit was rebuilt, full access to the shops tools, media/abrasive blasters, parts steam degreasers and lifts. So I was around most of the time while the engine was rebuilt (more or less helping supervise everything done to the motor). Also during that time (months) the front subframe was powder-coated, and I used all the equipment to clean, repaint, rehab every part of the car I could remove (except for the rear subframe). I replaced items that didn't meet my standards (like the rack and pinion, radiator, wiring harness, etc) and added items I thought would make the car more reliable, comfortable, and fun to drive (heater core, engine steadies, stainless brake lines, etc). I absolutely do not know the math of how to figure out the RPM/MPH relationship. But it would seem to me that total tire diameter plays into the equation. I haven't heard anyone mention this. Excellent color combinations, understated exterior, creature comforts (for a Mk, I!), etc. Kudos to the seller for including the engine build specs; not the usual vague \"performance camshaft\" descriptor. The Kent 266 cam is a great choice for a street 1275, along with the intake, exhaust and cylinder head mods. If it has a compression ratio as at least as high as the Cooper S it will be a good performer. If serious highway driving is planned it could use a taller final drive, but the 3.44 is a good all-rounder. The application of the sound damping adhesive panels is also the way it should be done; covering everything in wall-to-wall Dynamat per the street rodder style isn't a cost or weight effective approach. The heavy appliques over about 1/3 of a body panel stop the panel from drumming and a lighter insulation then damps out the higher frequency noises. (Did that stuff for a living in industrial applications.)\r\n\r\nI'm a big fan of Mambas and purchased some spares for my race Mini two years ago. I didn't realize that they changed them to a greater outward offset along with the socket head mounting bolts. That won't work on the race car and they sit in the box in the basement. The extreme offset may be a benefit here, as there also appears to be a spacer on the front to clear the bigger brakes.
