I had to go back many years to think about this and it brought back a wonderful memory. Here is the story I remembered with a lot of emotion as you can imagine: \u201cI was first introduced to Datsun \u201cZ\u201d cars when my first boyfriend owned a 240Z.\u00a0\u00a0I thought it was the coolest car ever!\u00a0\u00a0Fast forward to 1983 when my dad bought his dream car, the 280ZX Turbo. I was beyond excited. I felt like a queen riding in it with him. Of course he never let my brother nor I drive it.\u00a0\ud83d\ude02\u00a0It was a wise decision to not let my brother drive it, as he wouldn\u2019t have been able to contain himself. \u00a0\ud83d\ude08\u00a0His car was his pride and joy (besides me\u00a0\ud83d\ude1c.) He babied it and it was always pristine. He would take us on his hot rod rides and with the upgraded suspension system he had put on it handled even better so those turns were sharp, fast and tight. I would giggle like a little kid on every turn.\u00a0\u00a0It was very exhilarating. \u26a1\ufe0f\u00a0The car was garaged it\u2019s whole life and had not been driven at all the last 10+ years before he passed away in January, 2016.\u00a0\ud83d\ude1e\u00a0He had broken off the key head in the driver door and it was backed in so close to the wall on the passengers side he could not get in. I guess he never felt like climbing through the rear hatch and apparently couldn\u2019t be bothered with a locksmith.\u00a0\ud83e\udd37\ud83c\udffb\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\u00a0So when I inherited the car I had some work to do to get it back on the road. The exhaust had some rust so I had it completely replaced.\u00a0\u00a0(No rust now. \ud83d\udc4d\ud83c\udffd) New battery, tires, alignment and rack & pinion and poof...she was back\u203c\ufe0f\u00a0 I\u2019ve been having fun with this car and selling it will be emotional but it\u2019s time to pass it on to someone that will be able to drive it more. He lived in south Florida and in Indiana. When the car was new, it was the silver rose with a maroon/red interior. It was a very nice car. One year he was in the Pocono Mountains and a bear tried climbing on top of the car and scratched it up badly. The body shop did a horrible job of repainting the car and it was now a brownish color, but with the same red interior. The colors clashed horribly. The Florida sun completely baked the rear plastics and the carpets. I got the car in 1997 and drove it for about a year. It drove great, had about 90k miles on it and the ttops never leaked. I wanted to restore the car, but the cost of all the interior parts needed, and a repaint, were more than I could do in 1997, so I sold the car for a whopping $2500. \r\n\r\nThis car appears to be in pretty good shape, so hopefully the seller sees a much higher price. Oh, and mine had the bear damaged rear window louvers, but didn't have the headlight covers or body panels. It was also NOT the hideous looking 2+2 model. If anybody else on here is able to though, by all means. As far as maintenance, all that I did to get this car back on the road, I have not had to do anything additional. It is a 37-year-old car, and it is a bumpier ride of course compared to vehicles built today. But after getting this back on the road I have not had to do anything else mechanically to it. Everything I did to it is listed in the post. However, I will reiterate for you\u2026 New battery, rack and pinion, complete exhaust system, tires, alignment, fuel filter, fuel hoses.
