The amateur restorer did it to his personal preferences, I told him at the onset of the restoration that the color should be BRG with a black interior with white piping, but he said it was for him not back to original. The underside has NO rust or corrosion as the car has always been garaged. I have a set of old side screen frames that go with the car and the door mounting brackets for them. They will need to be rebuilt either Moss or Roadster Factory can do it. This is just one of the 2 TR3's I own, and the fastest (whatever that is worth). The reason for the State issued VIN is because the restorer did not know that you could buy a new VIN plate from either Moss or Roadster Factory and have it stamped with the original VIN. It was of no great concern for me as I knew the histry of the car, and did not go to the effort to have the VIN changed. That is why the original registration slip will be included with the car, to allow the purchaser to clean up the title if they wish. Of the 2 TR's I own this is the best sounding and has a stronger pulling engine.
