The blower just gets you there sooner. Keeping it there for some amount of time would be a matter of the transmission and rear end gearing helping to keep the revs in a range the rest of the motor will tolerate. Whether you want to get these up to that speed is another matter altogether. That other TC handled 80 pretty well, despite doors popping open and cooling fans unplugging. He belonged to the Long Beach MG Club and the TC Guild. At the CanAm race at Riverside International Raceway, the club TC's participated in the parade lap and my dad had Bruce McLaren in his car. \r\nHe had hot rodded the engine and a machinist friend of his built some unbreakable axle shafts.
