Properly sorted, these can be reliable, relaxed, comfortable GT cars that will cruise at whatever speed you are brave enough to do. I\u2019ve seen this car in person when it was in Maryland. As I recall, it was basically a solid car but not lacking in weekend projects. \r\n\r\nA couple of observations: Seats would benefit from reupholstering but, be aware, the seats alone will require a minimum of 2, and 3 to be safe, hides. Plus they are much more difficult to do than they appear. The cooling fans have been replaced with Bosch fans, which is an excellent upgrade but should be wired through separate relays owing to their higher current draw. The fans should turn on automatically and not by the manual switch shown in the driving video. Regarding the inoperative a/c, best thing to do is remove all of the existing a/c components and replace with an available kit of modern components specifically engineered for the Interceptor; money well spent. The electrics are a combination of MOPAR and Lucas so hopefully everything else works. This car is probably pretty loud as the original mufflers were substantially longer than those fitted, note the empty round mounting brackets; plus the rear chrome extensions were originally resonators, not simple pipe. Prices have been ticking up but someone is probably going to get a basically solid Interceptor at a decent price. Whatever it goes for, it\u2019s going to be a lot cheaper than anything else in it\u2019s class \u2013 think Bristol, Iso, Facel-Vega, Monteverdi, Aston-Martin; plus a lot easier to maintain and get parts for.\r\n\r\nFYI: several people mentioned the opening rear windows \u2013 I believe sometime in \u201974 those were discontinued and fixed in place, owing to the fact that they popped open in crash tests and had to fixed in place to satisfy US safety regs at the time. It's the reason I reluctantly sold mine....the original owner had put a spray-dye on the entire interior, which clogged all the pores. No amount of Hyde Food could prevent the leather drying out to the point where it became so brittle that it would shatter from a poke of the finger. Estimated retrim at the time was more than $10K...with a good-guy discount from a specialist in LA who redid my Everflex roof. Also spot-on regarding the Bosch fans with separate relays. Yikes.\r\n\r\nSaloon, Convertible or Coup\u00e9, I find them all compelling, and am as captivated by them today as I was when I saw my first saloon in the early 1970s. There were, as it turned out, several in my Toronto neighbourhood, and I'd knock on the door and ask the owner if he'd start it up and let me listen; usually, I got a drive, too, by doing that. Different times, those, I know.\r\n\r\nAnd how nice to see that post from @dougsmotorcycles. I don't know if that's Doug and Keri from K&D Enterprises, or others, but the time all of them took to write about the cars and share knowledge and tips is a very big reason why there are cars to come up on BaT now -- their guidance saved many owners, and in that, saved many of the cars.\r\n\r\nGeorge Boyd bought K&D, and continues to play a key role in keeping these cars going. In fact, he still sells \"The Interceptor Premier\" written by Keri and Doug, and I'd encourage any owner to seek out the 20-or-so editions published in the 1990s and early 2000s. There's how-to gold in them.\r\n\r\nDelta Motorsports in the US, Robey's in the UK, as well as Rejen, Appleyards, and many others in the UK are also tremendous for parts and restoration; Robey's stamped out a new bonnet for me several years ago from the original jigs that Doug at K&D fettled and painted and installed. \r\n\r\nAnd do join the Jensen Owners Club in the UK. A great magazine, and their Forum for all the Jensen cars -- not just the Interceptor -- is an excellent source of advice and guidance.
