The carpet is a molded piece running up the transmission tunnel and you have to remove the center console. In the toe box area there is a plastic trim piece securing the carpet against the firewall and lastly, at the outer edge by the threshold plate there is a long thin metal trim piece secured by small screws. It can certainly be done but I am not sure if the seller is willing or able to handle that request. One story of caution for anyone new to these cars. I once owned a yellow '78 that was best described as a beater class 280z. It had some rust but it was functional and I worked through all the deferred maintenance and for the $600 purchase price back in 1994 it had a lot!\r\n\r\nIn any event make sure to secure the battery with a factory hold down kit if you are keeping the battery in the stock location. My battery slid around somehow and arc'd itself to the inner fender well and burned up the dash harness in seconds. Luckily I pulled off the road and popped the hood and removed the battery cable on the negative post just as the fire was getting started at the alternator harness.
