Many of the e23s had wood dash trim. This looks so much better with just the black dash. Some early e23s and e24s instrument panel suffer from what looks like 'plastic rust'. This is easily remedied by removing the cluster and using a light abrasive on the inside. It'll look all black and new again. If only it were a 5 speed. That orange hue in the instrument cluster was always perfect at night for not messing with your retinas. The double-jointed struts were simple and effective for keeping just the right amount of feel for the road while offering slightly over-boosted steering, and (IIRC) the hydraulic-boosted brakes were a paragon of modulability.
