Earlier trucks (and vans) need some clearance work done to accomodate the larger bellhousing. That work is already done on the later models. Take a look in the bed of any 65-67 Econoline pickup and you'll see a bulge in the floor just behind the cab. Same bulge exists behind the doghouse of the vans. You'll notice that bulge is not present on this early Epup. Also, the later vans and trucks got a heavier engine support crossmember that is not present on the early ones. New metal was hand formed, welded in and faired. the center section of the bed was rusted so it was removed and a new bed section was welded in. Also, the cabin floors had issues where the fiber backed rubber mats created rust. These were cut out, new floors were obtained from Detroit and welded in. It had no bumpers and they are unattainable. The bumpers came from an auto recycle yard. They were sectioned both horizontally and vertically, reformed, welded and ground to proper the contours. It took two weeks of work just to massage the dents out of the tailgate. Other than that the metalwork was just a few random dents. Like rebuild the front axle and all new brakes, added a 3:75 posi in a 9\u201d rear axle, plus stuffed a 300 six, that I fitted with a twin carb intake manifold with long tube 6 into 2 dual exhaust manifold setup, that exited just before the rear wheels, through an automatic I got out of a E250. This is my first win on BAT, and it was Fastdash34's first sale. We live about 3 hours apart. I went to pick up the truck today. Mr. Fast was extremely helpful and explained a lot about the truck and the build. We drove it together for 20 mins or so. \r\n\r\nLast night he was spending some final time with the truck in his garage and noticed that the right rear of the bed seemed higher than the left. Upon further investigation he found that the left front leaf spring was sagging, no doubt to mainly the truck being driven by a single person sitting on the left. He said \"as you bid for the truck as perfect, I'm unhappy with this situation. I found a company that sells replacement springs. They are $200 plus $100 to ship each due to size and weight. If you want to go forward with the purchase I will be writing you a check for $600 to correct this defect.\" \r\n\r\nHow does it get better than that? \r\n\r\nThe drive home involved a ferry ride. No fewer than three parties stopped and told me how amazing the truck is. I told the third one \"this is my third compliment and I have only owned the truck for 90 minutes.\" \r\n\r\nMy son did an Instagram story and his late 20's friends blew up the post, in short, they loved the truck and said \"Dad is a baller!\" One of them wanted to face time me later to ask me about buying the truck and the whole experience. \r\n\r\nIn short, BaT friends, it has been a good day.
