That it survives at all is telling given that 99% of 4 door sedans were off the road within 15 years. Only dedicated loving owners spend money on a 4 door sedan usually because they are in love with the car. \r\n\r\nI fixed a 56 Cadillac Fleetwood sedan for the same reason. \r\n\r\nHoliday is Oldsmobile's nomenclature for 4-door pillarless sedan or \"hardtop\" which means a convertible but with a fixed metal roof. The Holiday 4 door joined Cadillac for 1956 which introduced its new Sedan DeVille, a pillarless 4 door sedan. \r\n\r\nIt won't bring the money a convertible or coupe would even though its equally as dramatic and the same to drive. \r\n\r\nI began in the hobby with a 1963 Impala convertible similar to one my Dad had. Later a close friend with Lincoln, Cadillac, Buick and Chrysler cars in his collection said to me \"You like your Impala? I replied \"sure, it runs and looks great.\" He said \"good, because that is about all it will do. Don't buy any more cheap cars. Cars that were cheap 62 years ago are cheap today.\" He went on...\"they were inexpensive and had cheap seats, cheap brakes and steering, cheap interiors and aluminum trim instead of stainless steel. Buy Lincoln and Caddy, Buick or Olds, and a Mercury before a Ford, a Pontiac before a Chevy. And always the top model, not the bottom. \"They drove better then and they drive better today\" he would say. \r\n\r\nThe gulf between low priced and medium to high priced cars was wide in the mid century and nothing like today when a new Chevy or Ford is comparably smooth and quiet as far more expensive cars. \r\n\r\nMy 1963 Impala, which I've owned for over 24 years never drove the same after being told that. Sorry for the delay in this first post, I just realized it went live this morning. I purchased this car as part of a multiple car collection out of Paradise Valley, AZ in March of 2024. Documentation shows that the car was purchased by the collector in March of 2015 and it was already restored. I will post a picture from the selling dealer in 2015 that describes car and restoration work that was completed. Maintenance and repair receipts from the prior owner are available and will be provided to the buyer. Upon purchase, the fluids needed to be changed and the carb need rebuilding. I have since enjoyed a few hundred miles with no issues, it is very clean and dry. To address some of the questions below and being fully transparent, I have identified that the AM radio and power seat do not appear to work. Although I have not had the issues diagnosed it may be fuse related or tube related (radio). I can confirm that all power windows work great, the windshield wipers are vacuum operated and work as good as vacuum wipers ever worked. I did notice that the heater core has been bypassed at some point so I assume the core may have had a leak or the prior owner just didn't want to have an issue since heat it not needed in AZ. If you look at some of the previous cars that I sold on BaT from this collection you will see that they are all in beautiful condition, there are no disappointments.
