Hub caps are also different, but doesn't matter because of\nthe mini-lite style wheels. Only other difference I can think of ( aside from the dash badge ) \nis the engine color, but this also doesn't really matter because this is a 1275 instead of the\noriginal 1098. The only rust issues I had were the running boards, easily ordered and replaced at that time. After a few \"fender benders\" between my brother and me, and all kinds of electrical issues, I sold it in 1980 for $600. At the time I felt defeated, but now I recognize I had about a good a run as one could have, at least with the limited resources I had at the time. It is a MG though badged as a Sprite. The body shop put on the badging when it was restored. We have the badging for the MG so the buyer can return it to the official MG Midget badging. When we restored it we chose not to put on the chrome body side trim and the chrome bonnet strip. Like someone commented MG parts are easily found if someone wants to add those. The roll-up windows were introduced in 1965. The seats came out in later 65 so they are MG seats. Prior to that the Midgets had seats like the bug eye. We did have the seats custom contoured and we put in never sag springs so they are super comfortable. If the car has no holes for the chrome strips on the hood or sides then someone has used a Midget title on a Sprite body. One would be wise to look on certain places on the frame and body to cross check the vin numbers and check for the holes that should be visible from inside the trunk and front fenders and under the center of the hood. One should also see trim holes in the trunk lid that matches the MG badge in the center. The dash if for a sprite will be drilled for the MG emblem too. The VIN tags can be switched, but I believe there are other places with numbers to find the number in the later cars.
