I bought a 49 TC that had lain in the back yard under a tarp for several decades. Fortunately I live in a dry climate and the rust was mostly on the surface with little perforation. Seemed like a reasonable project for my first restoration project! The car came with the original owner\u2019s notes. It had been exported to Australia where it had been raced. After removing the body, measured the frame and found it was twisted so hooked it up with a couple of come-alongs and pulled it straight. After welding up a few cracks, had it powder coated. Rebuilt the engine and tranny which was pretty easy as the little powertrain is as basic as you can get. Bought a new interior and top from Moss and sent out the wire wheels for restoration. Had it professionally repainted which was reasonable as the car is so small. After three years of weekends and spending vacation time working on it, it was done! Entered it in a all British car meet and won Best in Class against a dozen other T series cars. Hey guys, if I could restore one you can too.
