Originally purchased in 1970 by the original owners as a family project. The car was built to enjoy on the family property until being parked in the late 80\u2019s. After the original owners passing, the car was inherited by the family who pulled the car out of hibernation after 30+ years. They then commissioned a local VW shop (receipt pictured) in March 2022 to get it running and road worthy once again to enjoy on the family property. Shortly after, the new care takers/family had different plans with their growing family and had the hard decision of selling the car. I was the \u201cLUCKY\u201d next care taker. I acquired the car in Aug 2022 and have enjoyed it with my own family in the sunny state of CA. I have documented almost every adventure via my Instagram (og_1956vw) account. Being a VW nut myself and having a little OCD, I\u2019ve also gone through the car to confirm it\u2019s road worthy before my (3) kids enjoyed it along my side. She\u2019s a great runner! I\u2019m sure you all are asking why I\u2019m selling such a beautiful original unmolested car. Well, I recently acquired another Meyers Manx \u201cResorter\u201d that fits my family\u2019s needs (4 Seater) a little more and with space needed, this one now has to go.\u00a0\r\n\r\nAgain, this is an original 55 year old car, not a restored \u201cPainted\u201d slapped together beauty queen for a quick buck. To answer the very first comments, Yes! I could have easily done things to it (pan) to be a little more pleasing to the eye but I chose to show/sell the car in its original state. The cars never been off the pan. It has been enjoyed and can still be enjoyed as is. Believe it or not, that's the Horn. Apparently, there was a steering wheel on it in the past that didn't have a button where you'd thing the horn would be. Cool little things like this, make this car so unique. To add a little more, the horn works on the steering column but unfortunately not on the steering wheel. Again, easy fix to extend the wiring but, I chose not to mess with it and keep it as original as possible.
